Mission
JABA is a not-for-profit business association whose mission is to
be the dynamic force for the development of commerce and promotion
of investment between Jordan and the United States of America. It
is fully committed to community development through promoting, facilitating
and fostering meaningful economic engagement of the underprivileged
communities by way of starting and managing viable micro and small
enterprises.
JABA's Objectives
- To develop bi-lateral trade between Jordan and the US.
- To create understanding on the benefits of trade and investment
agreements
--between Jordan and the US.
- To contribute to reducing obstacles to trade between Jordan and
the US.
- To encourage local, regional and foreign direct investment into
Jordan.
- To enhance the capability of members to capitalize on trade and
investment
--opportunities.
- To promote the interests of the local Jordanian-American business
community.
- To contribute to Jordan's business-related community development
efforts.
JABA is Action
Participating in economic policy making and increasing private sector
opportunities through:
- Initiation of active discussion son economic public policy.
- Formulation of position papers and action plans to reflect private
sector views
--on specific policy issues.
JABA is Interaction
Developing active contacts with relevant parties in the US and establishing
networking between JABA members to create productive cooperation
through:
- Liaison with US State and Commerce Department offices.
- Formation of strategic partnerships with selected US business
organizations.
- Regular meetings and discussion groups among members.
- Executive Club luncheons where JABA hosts a key speaker on current
issues

JABA is Promotion
Identifying potential markets and partnerships for Jordanian/American
products and providing matchmaking opportunities through:
- Comprehensive online databases of Jordanian companies, offering
investors
--the opportunity to locate potential
partners and identify business opportunities.
- Incoming business delegations from the US to introduce American
businesses to
--Jordan's investment and trade potential.
- Outgoing trade and investment missions o the US to provide Jordanian
business
--with access to US markets, products
and services,
- Trade fairs and exhibitions to promote Jordanian/American products
and
--services in both countries and worldwide.
- Selection charts circulated to members to identify their priorities

--requirements on trade related issues.
JABA's Advancement
Providing access to accurate, up-to-date statistics and analysis
on trade and investment opportunities, export related matters and
current economic issues through:
- Relevant and comprehensive research reports prepared by a dedicated
--business research unit run by professionals
from Jordan and the US.
- A skillfully developed website offering links to JABA's database,
to Jordanian
--and US organizations and JABA members.
- @JABA, a quarterly newsletter containing trade, investment and
business
--news and a monthly economic bulleting
containing trade, investment and business news and --statistics
on the Jordanian economy and Jordanian-US business relations.
JABA is Outreach
Assisting small businesses by providing advice and resources and
contributing to the development of the community as a whole through:
- The Business Clinic: a voluntary program designed to offer free
help and advice to small __businesses
and start-ups.
- The "Wasta" Initiative, a program aimed at better preparing
the Jordanian university students
--for the workforce through training
and education on essential interviewing --and
career __building skills.
- Educational, developmental, humanitarian and environmental programs.
