The SIYB program consists of two basic components: Start Your Business (SYB) and Improve Your Business (IYB), in addition to Simplified Start and Improve Your Business (SSIYB), which aim at different target groups as follows:

- The target group of the SSIYB component is potential and existing entrepreneurs who want __to start their businesses and/or improve them at the micro-level and they have limited levels __of formal education and ability to perform basic calculations.

- The target group of the SYB component is potential entrepreneurs with interest in starting up __their small businesses who:

__> are able to read and write in the language of the training
__> are able to make basic calculations
n > have a concrete business idea (for those who do not have a concrete business idea, they ____attend a Pre-SYB course)
__> have a commitment to pursue the business idea
__> have or have access to technical skills relevant for the planned business
__> have or have access to business start-up capital
__> have willingness to pay for at least a part of the training costs
__> who want training
__> are in the retailing, wholesaling, manufacturing and services businesses (this package is ____not for loan officers nor people working in agriculture and mining)
__> can be government employees
__> age 18 and above

- The target group of the IYB component is existing entrepreneurs (owners or managers) who __have been in business at least 6 months to 1 year with a desire to improve it and who:

__> are able to read and write in the language of the training materials
__> are able to make basic calculations
__> already run a business
__> have or have access to business capital
__> willingness to pay for at least a part of the training costs
__> want training
__> are in the retailing, wholesaling, manufacturing and services businesses (this package is ____not for loan officers nor people working in agriculture and mining)
__> 18 years of age and above
