The SIYB program training delivery in Jordan is carried out through
Partner Institutions (PIs) as well as 'freelance' trainers. The
three PIs currently involved in the SIYB national program are Jordan
River Foundation (JRF) and Small
Business Development Centre of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for
Human Development (SBDC-JOHUD) and Noor
Al Hussein Foundation (NHF). NHF joined the SIYB program as
the third PI on 11 June 2003. The PIs were assisted in building
their technical and operational capacities to deliver the Programme
interventions for the desired impact at the entrepreneurial target
groups. Moreover, the Program is seeking to recruit other new potential
PIs from the private as well as the non-profit/non-governmental
sector as part of its ongoing efforts to facilitate training for
3000 potential and/or existing entrepreneurs over the coming three
years (2003-2005).
To ensure the technical sustainability of the national program,
JABA in coordination with the ILO, trained and certified a total
of 29 trainers to date. Also in coordination with ILO, JABA/SIYB
program conducts Training of Trainers (TOT) as well as Refresher
Training of Trainers (RTOT) workshops. The SIYB program also has
Master Trainers, who are considered an essential element for maintaining
the quality and technical sustainability of the program. Master
Trainers are identified, selected and trained by the ILO according
to strict selection criteria.
